WHEN
CHOOSING YOUR SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER....
Photographers
are not all created equal. Some work in quantity, some in quality. Some
don't retouch, some do. Some have a different person handling each aspect -
from shooting, to editing, to retouching, to presenting and then selling.
Some do it all and have a personal connection to their client getting to
know them better each step of the way in order to better serve you.
- Look for a
photographer who's style you like.
- Consider
if quality is more important than cost or vice versa.
- Consider
if you're being referred to the photographer because your friend
actually really LIKES their photographer, or if it's because they're a
"rep" for the photographer and they benefit every time they
send someone that photographer's way.
- Consider
if the photographer will go to a location you like and/or has great
locations to recommend and will use.
- Consider
if the photographer offers products you want. Do they offer canvas?
Gallery wrap? Metallic? Albums? Digital presentations?
- Consider
if the photographer retouches the images (and if there is additional
cost or no additional cost for that).
- Consider
if the photographer does the same things for each client, or if each
session is an individual and personal experience.
- Consider
image. I don't mean you need to go to the most "popular"
photographer out there. What I mean is to consider how the photographer
will make you look in your images. Do they make their subjects look
GOOD?

WHY
CHOOSE TO HAVE A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER FOR YOUR IMAGES?
Today, consumer cameras are getting better and better and people will often
try to do their important images on their own. Cameras are tools. Just like
a chisel is to a sculptor, a camera is to a photographer. No surprise
there. But, having never sculpted before, I still don't know how to sculpt
with even the most expensive chisel. Know what I mean? A professional
photographer will have (should have) knowledge of what kind of posing and
lighting makes you look your best. They know how to show off your best
features and hide your least favorite. AND - they know how to use all those
funky little buttons and options on the camera.

A
VERY SPECIAL DOG PROJECT
This
promotion applies to all dogs, but particularly, if you, or someone you
know, have a loving pit bull terrier, or rottweiller, akita, or other
misunderstood breed (yes, it's true - these breeds CAN be loving - in fact,
with proper guardianship, they usually ARE!), please have them contact me
at standingstones1@msn.com. I
have a very special project I'm working on and I'd love to let them in on
it. By the way, Otis, pictured here to the right, is looking for a foster
or forever home through kindredsoulsfoundation.org.

MANY
OF YOU KNOW THAT ANIMALS ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO ME
If you have the
space and time in your home and in your heart, there are some animal
rescues that would love to have you foster a dog or cat in need. I'm
currently fostering Iggy for Ginger's Pet Rescue. (See image here to the
left.) Iggy is a puppy mill survivor. You can see more of him if you go to
my blog (see link near top of page). He will be at the Federal Way Petco
this coming Saturday - available for adoption to his forever home. If
you're interested in fostering, contact Ginger at gingerluke@comcast.net (gingerspetrescue.org) or Kelly
at info@kindredsoulsfoundation.org
(kindredsoulsfoundation.org).
