DID YOU
KNOW.....
..... that 8x10's are
intended for the desk and not the wall? You will find that
most 8x10 frames have the easel stand on the back. Wall prints
actually start at the size of 11x14.
11x14 is
typically meant to be appropriate for a hallway, since it will
be viewed from up close. You want to be able to view wall
prints easily from across the room. Your guests should not
have to get up and go over to the print and squint to see
detail. Now, if you have a 10x15 room, a 30x40 would probably
be too large, but a 16x20 should be just fine.

How did I come up with the name Standing
Stones?
I get asked this so often so here
it is...... I love the outdoors and have done lots of hiking.
For those of you that are familiar with rock cairns, the name
has evolved from that.
For those of you that are not
familiar with what cairns are - they are rocks that are
stacked on a trail in order to serve as a guidepost as to
where to turn, etc. I've always thought that cairns were cool
looking and even seemed very artsy. They come in all shapes
and sizes because they're created of whatever rocks were
available at the place where someone decided to put one.
There was discussion about cairns with fellow hikers
at the time I was trying to come up with a name for my
business. The name "cairn" didn't have good sound to it for me
so I searched the internet for something else to call them.
Thus I found "Standing Stones".
Also, I've been told
that in history somewhere - I think in England or someplace -
stones were stood when something monumental happened in
someone's life. Of course when I heard this, it enhanced the
reasoning of my business name choice.
So there you
have it!
